There are chances to explore two Scandinavian capitals on a five-night cruise. You’ll get to discover the delights of Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, first; Balmoral docks within one mile of the city centre, close to sights and attractions such as the famous Little Mermaid, Tivoli Gardens and the Nyhavn district. Don’t miss the many Royal palaces and castles, Copenhagen’s crowning glories. There’s ample time in Oslo, renowned for its aesthetic delights, too; the Vigeland Sculpture Park, displaying over 200 works from Gustav Vigeland, the National Gallery, home of Edvard Munch’s The Scream, and the Opera House are high on the city’s must-see list. The Akershus Fortress is also well worth a visit, for an insight into Oslo’s medieval heritage. En route to the Norwegian capital, where once again your smaller-ship docks close to the centre, you’ll also be part of a momentous sailing past the Olsen family home on the Oslofjord.
