Saga Cruises

Douro Queen

The Douro Queen cruises along the river Douro in Portugal. The ship carries 130 passengers and took its maiden voyage in 2005. The ship provides guests with a swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, a panoramic lounge, bar and a restaurant. The entertainment on the ship will be relevant to the area in which is being sailed through.

Accommodation

Accommodation on Douro Queen includes Balcony Cabins, Picture Window Cabins and Upper Deck Aft Cabins.

Dining

Guests can expect delicious cuisine in the restaurant, where the staff serve four-course dinners with a choice of menus. A buffet breakfast is served as well as a full English breakfast if desired.

Enrichment

The Saga cruise director will always be mingling with guests and making sure everything's running smoothly. They'll no doubt organise a few impromptu games and quizzes too, for those who wish to join in. After dinner the pace remains just as leisurely. If the ship is berthed, you might like to take a stroll along the river bank – it's very easy to come and go as you please. Or if you're staying on board there might be a pianist playing, perhaps music to dance to, and occasionally local performers are invited on board to put on a show.

Entertainment

Guests can stroll around the public areas or take a dip in the pool. A few impromptu games and quizzes are organised for those who wish to join in. Relax with a book, watch the beautiful scenery go by, maybe make some new friends. Do as little or as much as you wish on board the Douro Queen.
