Have you ever wondered what life is like on-board the world’s biggest cruise ship? Welcome to Wonder of the Seas.

An iconic vessel draped in grandeur and decadence, Wonder of the Seas offers a truly unique experience. With so much to see and explore on this floating resort, it may be worth looking into what this magnificent ship has in store for you, before you embark!

Lauren from the Hays Travel Social Media team had the pleasure of experiencing two nights on Royal Caribbean’s brand new Oasis class ship as part of its Inaugural Launch.

Here are a few highlights from her trip to inspire your next cruising adventure.

Day 1

"Having already checked in through the Royal Caribbean app, boarding the ship was incredibly efficient; reaching the port and taking the first steps on the ship within 10 minutes of each other. My room, which was an inside balcony cabin, had stunning views overlooking the Boardwalk and AquaTheatre, which I was able to watch from the comfort of my own balcony.

"After exploring the ship, I enjoyed the Sail Away Party on the pool deck, soaking up the Mediterranean sun whilst listening to the live reggae band and tasting my way through the poolside bar’s cocktail menu; a personal favourite of mine was the delightful Strawberry Daiquiris- I’d highly recommend trying one or two!

"On the evening, I then had the pleasure of being invited to the Coastal Kitchen where I enjoyed a delicious three course meal whilst watching the sunset across the ocean through the restaurants panoramic windows. The three course meal consisted of Belly Pork for starter, Fillet Mignon for main and a Chocolate Praline Tart for dessert. It was a truly delicious and when combined with the ambience of the stunning restaurant setting, it made the experience even more fantastic.

"At night the ship came alive with a bustling collection of bars and entertainment venues including a Karaoke bar, Salsa bar, Ice skating show and even a nightclub! A must-visit is the AquaTheatre show which combined dazzling acrobatics, dancing and aerial aerobics with water. And I’d suggest not forgetting a late night trip to Sorrento’s, for some pizza slices before heading back to your room- it was the perfect finish to my first day at sea."

Day 2

"Day two began bright and early with a breakfast in the adult’s only Solarium Bistro. Perfectly positioned at the front of the ship and enclosed in a glass dome to soak up the sun in all weathers, it was a fantastic spot to enjoy an early morning bite to eat. Having set myself the task of experiencing and tasting my way through everything the ship has to offer, I opted for a lighter option of Avocado on Toast for breakfast.

"At 10am, the ships vast list of activities opened up for a day of thrilling adventures! I took part in Ziplining across the Boardwalk, sliding down 10 storeys on the Ultimate Abyss, Rock Climbing and surfing at sea on Flowrider – a lot harder than it looks!

"I couldn't experience Wonder of the Sea without trying out as many of the dining options as possible, so midday hotdogs at The Dog house were welcomed, followed by an Oreo Milkshake and bacon cheese fries at Johnny Rockets before my last trip to Sprinkles for Ice Cream (on tap!).

"A must visit for foodies is Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar, which is perfectly located in Central Park; an open area of the ship where ambient sounds of crickets and birds are played to replicate real park settings. I enjoyed a glass of wine before heading back to Coastal Kitchen, which I had been invited back to for a second night.

"The menu at Coastal Kitchen rotates frequently so we were pleasantly surprised to see a new menu but with some of the favourites from the previous night. This evening I opted for a delicious truffle risotto, poached lobster and baked Alaska; accompanied with wine that never reached the bottom of the glass thanks to the amazing service of the waiting staff on board.

"My final evening was spent in Spotlight Karaoke, opening my ears to the sweet, and sometimes sour, singing of both the guests and the Royal Caribbean team. My entire experience on board was out of this world. All of the staff were brilliant throughout my stay on board Wonder of the Seas and there was so much to see and do that I could have easily spent weeks exploring everything the ship had to offer."
